Am not going to forgive whoever in cix:electronics passed on [this]. Am hooked! (level 14 and have a system to solve it that seems to work well. move all the dots to a corner so there's space to work in. drag a dot out, pull the next one, rearrange so nothing crosses, keep doing this, compressing "finished" dots to the other side as they're done and not involved now...)

:)

I did level 13, but it was getting so slow (on my laptop) that it was a minute or two between drags towards the end whilst it checked for crossings. Took 30 minutes in the end, much of which was me waiting for it.

My algorithm begins with grabbing every point in turn (rather randomly) and sticking it into the centre of its children. This reduces the "acute" shapes and the overall knottedness before you get down to the untangling.

It desperately needs an area select-and-drag function.

definitley. If I could-be-arsed, I'd disassemble the SWF and reimpliment in MFC VC++ ...
